The Role
Are you passionate about design? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a talented designer and creative visionary who is experienced, reliable, self-motivated and task-oriented to join our team. The ideal candidate is capable of taking a project from conception through completion, and when needed, switching gears to contribute passionately in support of another more pressing project. This person thrives off the hustle of the work and is able to juggle competing priorities while handling unexpected interruptions and changes – all with a positive attitude.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing multiple design projects within budget and against tight deadlines. To perform all aspects of managing client accounts and project production through the following tasks:
- Develop design and color concepts
- Constantly refine skill, stay abreast of trends and share creative ideas that relate to the industry
- to improve our quality of services and products
- Space planning, floor plan critiques and plan development
- Problem solving throughout the design process with some supervision and guidance
- Prepare and participate in design presentations and other meetings normal in project delivery
- Interior finish specifications, selections and documentation
- Select and specify all FF&E that aligns with the design intent, budget and schedule
- Select, prepare, review and follow-up on all orders for procurement and installation
- Coordinate and schedule all aspects of projects with builders, clients, subcontractors and
- LD&Co’s internal teams
- Prepare and lead onsite installations and problem solve issues with the team, as needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A professional degree in Interior Design from an accredited institution, or related
- 3+ years of experience as an Interior Designer
- Model home merchandising, multi-family housing and/or hospitality design experience is
- preferred
- Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to professionally interact with clients, vendors and
- team members
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and meet tight budgets and strict
- deadlines in a quick-moving environment
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment with a willingness to roll up their sleeves to
- meet the needs of our organization
- Positive, ambitious, approachable and friendly demeanor – professionally representing self and
- company at all times
- Strong self-starter with great organizational skills and attention to detail
- A drive to achieve both personal and company goals and objectives
- Ability to receive and act upon feedback from leadership team, clients and others
- Sets high standards – not satisfied with the status quo
- Creative, flexible problem solver with a capacity to cope with challenges and pressures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), AutoCAD, and
- SketchUp is required
- Experience in Revit and/or InDesign is a plus
- NCIDQ accreditation is a plus
- Physical demands may include lifting heavy objects on installs, as well as hanging art and
- assembling furniture
- Travel to clients/project sites across the U.S. is required
