Third quarter called for leis, not just cake. This month the office traded floor plans for Hawaiian vibes to celebrate Nicole, Callie, Holly, Amy, Kris, and Kenna. Flower clips, grass skirts on the buffet, a gold palm by the exit sign, and enough Hawaiian chips and fruit skewers to prove merchandising works on a snack table too.

The team showed up in color: leis stacked, aloha shirts on, paper lanterns over the conference table, and pineapples down the center. It was less formal meeting, more island potluck, with BBQ sauce on the side and a lot of laughing between plates.

These gatherings matter as much as the installs. Model home work moves fast, with tight timelines, out-of-town crews, and last-minute reselects. A birthday lunch is how this team resets. The same people who problem-solve a floor plan also pass fruit skewers and take the group shot. That builds the trust that shows up later on a job site, when the work is harder than a luau and the deadline is not optional. Celebrating Nicole, Callie, Kenna, Holly, Kris, and Amy is not extra. It is how a design studio stays a team.

That’s the LD&Co mix we like. Design people who take the work seriously and the birthdays lightly. Six teammates, one theme, and an afternoon that looked like summer decided to install itself in Greenwood Village.

Happy birthday, Nicole, Callie, Kenna, Holly, Kris, and Amy. The models will still be here tomorrow. The leis were for today.
