We believe that exceptional interior design and model home merchandising are about more than creating beautiful spaces—they’re about building stronger communities and fostering meaningful connections. For over 25 years, we’ve partnered with home builders and developers to craft award-winning designs that transform properties into homes that inspire and sell. Our commitment extends beyond aesthetics to making a tangible difference in the lives of those around us. That’s why we’re proud to participate in the Emerging Leader Program, presented by the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver (HBA), with the Home Builders Foundation (HBF) as its charity of choice, as well as the Builders for Babies event hosted by HomeAid Colorado. We invite new home builders and developers to join us in these impactful initiatives.

Lita Dirks & Co.’s Commitment to Volunteerism

Volunteerism is at the core of Lita Dirks & Co.’s culture. We encourage every associate to contribute 8 hours annually to volunteer work, and both the Emerging Leader Program and Builders for Babies offer meaningful ways to fulfill this commitment. Our team is passionate about giving back, and we’ve seen how these initiatives strengthen our industry and community. As Lita Dirks, a Best in American Living Hall of Fame inductee, often says, “Creating spaces that inspire is our craft, but creating opportunities for others to thrive is our calling.”

The Emerging Leader Program: Empowering Communities

Presented by the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver, the Emerging Leader Program is a cornerstone of community-driven volunteerism, with the Home Builders Foundation as its designated charity. This program unites builders, contractors, tradespeople, and volunteers to construct accessibility modifications—such as wheelchair ramps, grab bars, and bathroom remodels—for individuals and families with disabilities across the Denver metro area. In 2024, the HBF’s Blitz Build, a key part of the program, completed over 286 projects with a retail value of nearly $1.9 million, empowering individuals to live more independently and safely.

The Emerging Leader Program cultivates the next generation of industry leaders through hands-on participation in these transformative projects. Volunteers dedicate time to building mobility solutions, like ramps, that make a life-changing difference. For example, in 2023, volunteers built a ramp for a Castle Rock family, enabling their young daughter, Juniper, to navigate her home and community with ease—a testament to the program’s impact.

Builders for Babies: A Special Event with HomeAid Colorado

Separate from the Emerging Leader Program, we’re thrilled to support Builders for Babies, a heartwarming event hosted by HomeAid Colorado on June 20th. This initiative focused on supporting families with young children by providing essential supplies and creating safe, accessible home environments. Builders for Babies brings together the homebuilding community to make a direct impact on families in need, ensuring they have the resources to thrive. It’s a powerful opportunity to give back while fostering connections with like-minded professionals.

Why Builders and Developers Should Get Involved

For new home builders and developers, participating in the Emerging Leader Program and Builders for Babies offers a chance to make a difference while reaping professional and personal rewards. Here’s why you should join us:

Community Impact: Your expertise can transform lives. Through the HBF’s accessibility projects, you help individuals with disabilities regain independence, with over 220 ramps installed since 2011. Builders for Babies supports families with young children, providing critical resources and safe spaces.

Networking and Leadership Development: The Emerging Leader Program, presented by the HBA, and Builders for Babies, hosted by HomeAid Colorado, connect you with industry professionals, fostering relationships that strengthen your network and position you as a leader. Collaborating with firms like Lita Dirks & Co. creates opportunities for future partnerships.

Brand Visibility: Volunteering enhances your reputation as a socially responsible business. Both the HBF and HomeAid Colorado provide social media coverage and fundraising support to highlight your contributions.

Team Building: Engaging your team in these initiatives fosters camaraderie and purpose. Our associates at Lita Dirks & Co. find these experiences rewarding, seeing the direct impact on families like Juniper’s or those supported by Builders for Babies.

We’re proud to partner with builders and developers who share our vision of creating thriving communities. Whether you’re a new builder establishing your presence or a seasoned developer seeking to give back, these initiatives are a chance to build something meaningful—both for your business and for those we serve.
