Hovnanian® Homes in Sanford, Florida, was a perfect example of this approach; a fast-paced project that transformed a five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath model into a sophisticated showcase of their “Classic Restoration” style.

The Classic Restoration aesthetic is all about timeless elegance: tailored and refined, rooted in tradition yet perfectly revived for modern living. It’s sophisticated without being stuffy. Led by Amy, our talented Design Director, the vision came together quickly. Our team handled sourcing, ordering, and project execution seamlessly, while Amanda, Callie and Lita joined on-site for a flawless installation.

Drawing Inspiration from Sanford’s Natural and Historic Beauty

What made this project particularly inspiring was Sanford’s unique blend of historic charm and natural beauty. The model’s location, backing onto Seminole State Forest and across from Rock Springs Run State Reserve, offered an incredible backdrop of preserved Florida wilderness.

We drew heavily from local landmarks to infuse the interiors with authentic regional character:

The picturesque historic downtown with its quaint streets lined with eclectic shops, restaurants, and art galleries
The serene trails and waterways of the nearby Wekiva River Preserve State Park
The peaceful Lake Monroe waterfront

These elements helped us create spaces that feel connected to the surrounding environment—elegant yet grounded in Central Florida’s natural and cultural heritage.

A Wild Surprise on Site

The job site’s proximity to protected forests came with one unexpected perk: wildlife warnings. We were repeatedly cautioned to watch for bears when leaving in the evening. Like many, we were surprised to learn Florida even has bears! On our final day, reality hit when we spotted a small black bear rummaging in the dumpster outside the model; definitely a memorable (and slightly shocking) send-off.

Enjoying Sanford After Hours

The project wasn’t all work. We stayed just across from the charming Colonial Town Park shopping area, which proved to be the perfect spot to unwind. Over the course of the install, we sampled nearly every restaurant in the walkable district. From casual outdoor dining to upscale options, it was the ideal way to recharge.
