Kelly and Kris wrapped up a model install for Snyder Homes – and shared some sneak peek pictures with us! Art has always been Kelly’s first love (she has a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design) and it continues to be the foundation of her design work. Kelly truly understands how powerful colors, materials, and shapes interact to create a feeling within someone. And she uses that knowledge to create innovative and impactful designs. When not designing interiors for LD & Co, she can be found making mixed-media/textile art out of paper, walnut ink, and recycled upholstery fabric; or hiking with her adorable 3-year-old Foxhound pup, Chuckie. It just depends on the time and day.
“This was really quite a fun install for me. I’m originally from Boston (only a 4-hour drive from the site) and so I spent my childhood coming up to Vermont with my family and extended family to play in the mountains and sometimes drive the extra couple hours to go to Canada. I’ve lived in various places all over the country since Boston- D.C., Florida, and now Colorado, and New England is still the most beautiful area in the entire country to me. All four seasons here are great but in the fall, there’s nowhere else in the world where you’ll see colors like this- everywhere you go looks like a painting! Also can’t forget the DELICIOUS fresh maple syrup and all the sweet treats they make from it – I made sure to bring a few things back in my suitcase…”
“…My favorite piece of art would definitely have to be the abstract painting hanging over the fireplace in the Family Room. It was delivered later after everything else was placed and you could feel something was missing. Once we hung it, everything just felt right. Since the walls, drapery, and upholstery in this room are quite neutral, I think it gives the room life and acts like an anchor – accentuating and balancing the colors coming through from the ottoman, throw pillows, and from the rest of the model.”
